Reared Turkeys

Traditional breeds are grown to full maturity on natural diet containing whole grain cereals which have no growth promoting additives. During day time the bronze turkeys have access to 10 acres of pasture and glean the hedgerows for berries seed and bugs.

By using 16 different strains of turkey all our turkeys are mature by Christmas the small ones are the same age as the large ones ensuring that all birds have dense meat and good fat cover so when cooked will provide a meat with good old fashioned flavour and texture.

At Tollgate Farm we have established a good practice of animal husbandry and close monitoring of welfare meaning that our turkeys live a long, happy and healthy life. Which allows them to mature slowly producing the ideal bird to provide a delicious Christmas meal with a distinctive taste and texture.
